Hello Madison and Austin,Your dad and my husband, Eddie, would always have lunch together and over the summer, I would occassionally meet up with Eddie for lunch and your dad would tag along. I always enjoyed talking with your dad about "stuff" and also you two.
One of the times your dad joined us for lunch last summer, I remember him telling me how they had decided you all were going to Massanutten for a little time away. What clearly got him excited was that your mom and him were going to surprise you two. He wasn't jumping up and down in excitement, but you could see the excitement and pride in his face. Whenever he talked about you all, it was so obvious he was so proud of you all.
Your dad was a man with an infectious smile that is loved by everyone that was lucky enough to have know him. He had a gentleness about him that was wonderful. Our family will miss your dad a lot. Eddie loved giving your dad a hard time about the number of tickets he "didn't" write. They would always laugh and your dad took Eddie's joking like a trooper. When they were together, they were always laughing at each others crazy humor.
It is with a broken heart that I write this to you all. I will pray for you all and your mom every day, hoping and praying that you find happiness in all of the wonderful memories you shared with your dad. He was a top-notch guy.
